Typography-Three Typographic
Layouts
Bring to Class 9/8
Choose three page layouts from a magazine that feature
striking typographic design. Mount each to a larger panel of cardstock
or heavy paper. Annotate each with your analysis of the layout's
general visual strategy, and how that interacts with the content
of the message and copy. Include your observations about the composition
and levels of contrast, scale, rhythm or other visual elements.
Attach notes that reveal the functioning of the
type. What compositional factors effect its expression? Font choice?
Color or value contrasts. How does the typography interact with
other elements in the full page?
